Saving Private Ryan

This letter became very well known in 1998 after its use in the film Saving Private Ryan.
Executive Mansion, Washington, November 21, 1864.
Mrs. Bixby, Boston, Massachusetts:
Dear Madam: I have been shown in the files of the War Department a statement of the Adjutant-General of Massachusetts that you are the mother of five sons who have died gloriously on the field of battle. I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln.

Commercials vs. Jesus

Allstate- "You're in Good Hands"?

Probiotic to control your digestive system?

Christianmingles.com?

or can we just fully rely on Jesus to bring us these things..hmm...For instance, can we just rest in God's hands, can we pray that our digestive systems be restored, and fully believe that God will bring us our mate that he has intended for us to be with, or do we need to resort to searching on-line websites, with hopes that we encounter the right person?

Food for thought. Hmm...

Heart like a Child

Mark 10:14-15--“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Matthew 18:4--"Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
